Paris France Watch fob of N.J. Schloss & Co. from the Exposition Universelle in 1889. Unc. $32. 31mm x 33.8mm. Great allegorical scenes. The fob is toned brass but the toning is lighter in a circular area on the obverse in the area of the goddess’ body - probably from a price sticker long ago.

Widow’s Mite - Lepton of Valerius Gratus $65. approx 15.5mm dia. Valerius Gratus was governor of Judea from 15 - 26AD. This is the Widow’s mite referred to in the Bible Luke 21:1-4:


And He looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury, and He saw also a certain poor widow putting in two mites. So He said, ‘Truly I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all; for all these out of their abundance have put in offerings for God,[a] but she out of her poverty put in all the livelihood that she had.’ ”
